Yugi and his friends go to the tablet at the museum to use the Egyptian God Cards to unlock Yami’s secrets. However, when Yami activates the cards, their powers are drained, the tablet is encased in ice, and Duel Monsters suddenly start to appear throughout Japan. Kaiba and his company renounce that this is their blame, and to make matters worse, the God Cards are stolen by mysterious bikers. A robed individual challenges the Pharoah, and uses the Seal of Orichalcos, a strange mystical card that allows him to summon Obelisk without being struck down by lightning.

The seal of Orichalcos is still in effect and it is hindering Yugi each turn. However, he finds a way to destroy his opponents’ "endless" ranks of monsters, and has Dark Magician Girl eradicate the rest of his life points. The man’s soul is sealed in Orichalcos as a result. The strange bikers (Rafael, Valon, and Alister) steal the God cards, but give back Rex and Weevil’s soul cards. Later that day, Yugi and his friends meet Rebecca again, who tells them that her grandfather wants to see them about something...

While yami yugi tries to show the effect of the Egyptian cards the stone freezes and the monsters become a life in the real world, the prof. Pegasus sent a vedio type to yugi and his friends with a card and he told him to save that card with his life. Then they decided to go to Pegasus to see what the problem is by visiting him because its not save if he said that in the type, after while may will get to Pegasus before yugi reached there. After they get there Pegasus sent his guys to pass yugi to his own place with special plane. And Pegasus called kaiba to duel him or he will control all of his company because he bought most of the share on it, then kaiba accept his dual. Kaiba get his cards ready and he goes after Pegasus.

Seto Kaiba receives a call from Maximillion Pegasus, who has apparently managed to buy up the majority of KaibaCorp's shares. Pegasus holds the company ransom to convince Kaiba to come to Duelist Kingdom and duel him. Kaiba accepts, but Mokuba realizes this is a conflicted decision, as his brother had vowed not to duel until he had completed construction of their latest project, Kaiba Land. Once they meet, Pegasus taunts Kaiba a bit with Kaiba's past failures, and then their duel begins. Pegasus still favors Toon monsters. Kaiba counts on the might of his Blue-Eyes White Dragon to bring him a victory, and with a few determined draws, he manages to destroy the Toon combo. When he confronts Pegasus for not showing a strong duel, "Pegasus" laughs and removes a mask. Kaiba's opponent is in fact a man named Alister, who wields a new Duel Disk from this point onwards. Alister activates The Seal of Orichalcos, trapping both duelists and determining that the loser of the duel also loses his soul.

When Seto demands an explanation, Alister holds out a charred action figure from his pocket. Kaiba mocks it as a piece of junk, but when Alister declares that it used to belong to his brother, both Seto and Mokuba are dumbstruck. Alister goes on to tell that he grew up in a war zone with his little brother Mikey as his only family. When the fighting grew worse, the two of them had to surface from shelter and move elsewhere. For a moment, their side gained an advantage, bringing out a fleet of recently-purchased KaibaCorp tanks. But when Alister helped Mikey into a tank so as to escape, he had to go back to pick up Mikey's dropped action figure. The tank was bombed, and Alister was faced by a fleet of enemy tanks, knowing by the flames of the tank near him that his brother was dead.

Yugi, Joey, and the gang arrive at Industrial Illusions, and the doors lock behind them. Rex and Weevil, who stowed away earlier, watch from the other side of the doors, and Duke tries to unlock the doors by reaching the security room. Back in the lobby, the gang is confronted by Mai. She reveals that she has joined Dartz's group (although Dartz's name itself is not mentioned) because of her loneliness and overwhelming drive to become the best duelist. She reflects on her first assignment -- challenging Pegasus. Even the creator of Duel Monsters was not able to beat her, and although his soul is taken, she wants to prove her power elsewhere. Joey wants to free her from this influence, but he's the one that Mai wants to duel first. He refuses, but she starts anyway and activates "The Seal of Orichalcos", trapping him and determining that one of them will lose their soul. Even as she ends her first turn, he still does not want to duel her, and he is at the brink of despair. Nothing he says is getting through to her, and fighting back would only mean that her soul could be captured.

Mai and Joey are in a duel, but he is not fighting back because the Seal of Orichalcos is already in play, and defeating Mai would mean the loss of her soul. Mai recalls having fought in Duel Monsters tournaments and won, but the victories were not really meaningful. When she was alone, she still remembered the fear from her Shadow Game, and she knew there was still the chance of such a loss. In such anxiety, she met Valon, who offered a way for her to find power that would mean she could never be defeated. He introduces her to Dartz, who offers his condolences and the power of the Orichalcos. She accepts. Valon is watching Mai duel Joey now, as is Rafael, though Valon is far more interested in Mai's progress. Joey becomes resigned to the fact that Mai is not to be shaken from her duel, and he duels back, but only playing defensively. Mai rips through such tactics, taking an early lead.

Mai has activated the Seal of Orichalcos against Joey, having joined Dartz's forces in the search for power great enough to ensure that she could never be defeated. The duel is observed by Yami Yugi, Tea, Tristan, Valon and Rafael. Rex and Weevil also watch the duel from behind the security gate. Joey's turns up until now have been half-hearted because he does not want to defeat her in such conditions. However, with only 200 life points left, he has realized that he must duel with all he has in order to reach her. With this, he takes his next turn, dealing the only damage Mai has taken so far. She calmy responds by summoning Harpie's Pet Dragon, increasing its attack power to overwhelming levels. Valon looks on eagerly as she calls out her triumphant attack. Joey responds by activating a gambling trap. He has a one-in-three chance of negating her attack; if he misses, the attack will go through unchecked. He succeeds, but his trap's other effect gives Mai back two cards that wrecked his forces in previous turns. Joey switches to defensive playing, and although his life points stay safe, his attempts to use effects on her attack forces are each parried by her new cards.

In the lobby of Industrial Illusions, Joey is dueling Mai within the Seal of Orichalcos, while Yami Yugi, Tea, Tristan, Valon, Rafael, Rex and Weevil watch. Joey has just unlocked and drawn "The Claw of Hermos", surprising everyone. His field is empty, and he plays the last three cards in his hand. First, he revives his strongest monster so far, and he then adds his trusty Time Wizard and fuses it with the power of Hermos. To his bewilderment, the result is a golden cartoonish hammer with tiny wings. Valon mocks such a ridiculous card being used as a threat, but Yami and Yugi know there is more to it. Joey decides to put his trust in this card anyway. He equips it to his warrior, and calls the attack. Mai decides to play it safe, using a parrying trap. To both their surprise, the hammer activates its magic anyway, opening a hole in the group that places a magical orb atop each of Mai's monsters. Each orb turns into a number. Nothing else happens. Joey has no choice left but to end his turn. Mai takes her turn, intending to end this once and for all, but all at once, her monsters are all sucked into the hole opened by the hammer. Neither she nor Joey knows how that happened, nor does Yami, but he notes that the hole is still there. Joey seizes the opportunity for a direct attack, cutting Mai's lead significantly. As she gets back to her feet from the impact, she is shuddering to think that she is once again in danger of losing.

In this episode, Yugi and his friends learn that Professor Hawkins was kidnapped. Yami Yugi rides Rebecca's horse to save him. Knowing Yami is coming to meet him at Death Valley, Rafael he lets the professor go. He also reveals that someone (whose identity is unknown) in Dartz's organization burned Professor Hawkins's research on Atlantis. When Yami arrives, Raphael challenges him to a duel. The plot for the next episode starts. Throughout all of this, Rex and Weevil try to find rare cards at the professor's house, to no avail.

Rafael and Yugi face off in a duel. Rafael reveals his past and his reasons for joining the Orichalcos.

Rafael uses Exchange to force the Pharaoh to take the Seal of Orichalcos from his hand. With only one turn left until he loses the duel, the Seal seems like the Pharaoh's last hope. He plays the card, despite Yugi urging him not to do so.

Under the influence of the Orichalcos, the Pharaoh ruthlessly attacks Rafael using Catapult Turtle to sacrifice his monsters. Rafael has gained the upper hand; he has unlocked the Pharaoh's inner darkness and turns his own monsters against him using Guardian Eatos.The Pharoah loses the duel and almost has his soul taken, but Yugi steps in to save him. Meanwhile, Rex and Weevil jump onto Rafael's helicopter to join up with them.

The conclusion to Yami's duel vs. Rafael has a heavy price: Yami is crushed by its outcome, as his actions & recklessness (i.e. playing "The Seal of Orichalcos") have resulted into the loss of Yugi's soul. Rebecca cries in sorrow. Joey tells Yami to get back to his senses and focus. Meanwhile, Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood catch up to Rafael and jump to his helicopter. Alister flies them to Dartz's headquarters, where Rex and Weevil are eager to join Dartz's gang in order to "get their hands on those Orichalcos cards". Dartz holds out 2 Orichalcos Stones for Rex and Weevil to get: they reach out for them and barely pass the test, thereby obtaining 1 "The Seal of Orichalcos" card each. Rex and Weevil are then taken to a big card room and given access to an almost limitless supply of cards (except the Egyptian God Cards), in order to improve their decks. Rafael tells the two to be wise and to make sure their decks are ready. In the final scene, Yami and his friends get onto a train starting the plot for the next episode.
