Though it took some time, eventually Drs. Banting and Best started producing insulin and before long diabetics the world over were given what they needed to live relatively normal lives. On the TV series True Blood, it would seem that vampires who've longed to stop having to kill humans for their blood and become productive members of society have received a similar blessing. Japanese scientists have invented a synthetic form of blood named you guessed... Read more
I really liked watching ‘True Blood’ especially keeping in mind the fact that this was the first episode. Alan Ball has performed very well and has done a good job of establishing a realistic society that recognizes vampires. The sex is all graphic but too much twisted and this makes it look different between humans and vampires. The dialogues aren’t bad at all and the atmosphere of the show got me all interested in it. The acting of all the main characters is rock solid, especially Anna Paquin. She convincingly portrays a young Southern woman who is tortured by hearing everyone's thoughts, but still holding on to her values. But that does not mean there are no problems with the show. The accents were strained many a times in the show and Sookie's African-American friend Tara is the worst in this case.
‘True Blood’ has been garnering loads and loads of fans with the passing of every episode. There is no doubt about the rising popularity of the show. Director Alan Ball has managed to deftly adapt the show from the southern vampire series written by Charlaine Harris. The show gels together the gritty, down-south, feel that is omnipresent in Harris's books. The imagery in landscape as well as the outfits is fantastic and makes the viewer feels as if he is also a part of the story. The music is just too good. A person gets hooked on to the show the moment opening credits start rolling by. The acting by lead characters is great to say the least. Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse has done a commendable job. Stephen Moyer as 'Vampire Bill' is great as well.
. I don’t think that True Blood is one of those regular vampire stories like the ones that are being aired on television these days. This is much more than run-of-the-mill stuff. It is a very adventurous and exciting vampire story that actually makes you believe that these creatures exist. It is a refreshing take on the theme of vampires. This vampire show is almost real and it beautifully combines the elements of drama, action, love, sex and fantasy. I find this show really very interesting. It has everything; right from sex, passionate vampires, to intrigue, action, and drama. ‘True Blood’ is a very well-written show that has a great bunch of actors. It deserves all the accolades that are being showered upon it.
I started to watch ‘True Blood’ after I got a chance to read the southern vampire mysteries by Charlaine Harris. I really liked the books and was really excited to see the show. So when I watched it, I thought it was incredible how they depicted Bon Temps and all its residents. The cast is full of super-talented actors and the casting is great. But one thing I want to stress here is that I’m a bit disappointed with Anna Paquin. I think she is somewhat stiff and not very pretty. She is not good enough to play the role of Sookie. But the rest of the cast is great. Alexander Skarsgård is Eric Northman and I watch the show mainly because of him. My other favorites on the show include Lafayette played by Nelsan Ellis, Pam played by Kristin Bauer and Jason played by Ryan Kwanten.
